                        Meet the Downtown Boulder Partnership Team!

                        Chip
                        CEO
                        Having worked in downtown district management for over 20 years, Chip is a strong proponent of supporting social infrastructure and is fascinated by the intersection of the public realm and private interests. Prior to coming to lead the Downtown Boulder Partnership, Chip served as the Executive Director for the Downtown Association of Santa Cruz and has been a long time advocate for arts, culture, and innovation.
                        Sue Hempstead
                        VP of Finance
                        Sue Hempstead has been a part of the team since 1998, starting out as the office assistant in the three person organization. A native of Boulder, she loves working in the city where she grew up. Sue earned a bachelor’s degree from Cal State Long Beach. Although her degree wasn’t in accounting, she has grown to love handling the finances for the Downtown Boulder organizations.
                        Terri Takata-Smith
                        VP of Marketing & Communications
                        Terri Takata-Smith is an experienced marketing and PR strategist with over 20 years in the industry and more than a decade marketing downtown Boulder. She specializes in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing / promotional campaigns and communication plans keeping Downtown Boulder at the forefront of innovative initiatives. Terri is a 2020 International Downtown Association Emerging Leader Fellow and serves on the board for Downtown Colorado, Inc
                        Anna Salim
                        VP of Events & Membership
                        Anna Salim has overseen Downtown Boulder’s signature events for over a decade. She is responsible for the planning, execution and sponsorship sales for over a dozen community events. Anna also oversees the organization’s membership team and manages the public art and other special projects of the Downtown Boulder Foundation (501(c)(3)). She has served on the City of Boulder's Arts Commission (2010 - 2015) and currently serves on the board for the Colorado Festival & Events Association.
                        Chris Zachariasse
                        Director of Operations
                        Chris Zachariasse was born and raised in North Dakota before moving across the country to the East Coast; from Maine to the Florida Keys. Chris eventually settled in Boulder, Colorado in 2007 and hasn't left since. He has worked for Downtown Boulder for over a decade and takes great pride helping keep Downtown what it should be. Chris oversees the district-wide banner program and the annual holiday lighting initiative. On weekends he is most often knee deep in a mountain creek, trying to unsnag his fishing lure from an overhanging willow branch.
                        Cindy Sepucha
                        Community Development & Membership Manager
                        Cindy Sepucha has lived in Boulder for over 14 years. After growing up and attending college in Southern California, she finally found home in Colorado. Before coming to Downtown Boulder, Cindy worked as a visual artist and ran a small Boulder arts nonprofit. She loves people and is passionate about cultivating community. When she is not downtown, she can usually be found with her husband and 2 kids either outside, playing in the snow or the sun, or in her home studio creating things.
                        Julie Phillips
                        Marketing & Communications Manager
                        Julie Phillips graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2019 with a degree in Strategic Communications and an emphasis in Public Relations. She is passionate about marketing, social media and helping small businesses thrive. In her free time she enjoys hiking and running with her dogs, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
                        Mariel Kramer
                        Events Coordinator
                        Mariel Kramer works to serve the Downtown Boulder community focusing on finding new, fun ways to connect Boulderites within our city center. She graduated from CU Boulder in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Studies. She finds joy while singing, dancing, reading, growing vegetables & cooking them, painting, and practicing creative movement.
                        Julia Simpson
                        Administrative Assistant
                        Julia is an advocate of small, local businesses and creative communities. In her career, she’s helped entrepreneurs and startup businesses grow and implement processes. She wears many hats in her role and is involved in many projects. Julia relocated to Boulder in 2019 from the Carolinas. She enjoys hiking, sightseeing, thrifting, and propagating her houseplants.
                        Dave Adams
                        Business Liaison
                        Dave Adams is a longtime Boulder resident. With 35 years in the restaurant business, Dave joined Downtown Boulder in 2000. He currently works part-time assisting businesses overcome challenges operating in a downtown environment as the Business Liaison. In his free time, Dave enjoys skiing, mountain biking, swimming, and playing tennis or squash.
                        Jeremy Tandy
                        Operations Manager
                        Jeremy Tandy is a native of Long Island and fell in love with Colorado as a teenager. In 2004 he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he spent 8 years learning and polishing his leadership skills. He then returned to Colorado in 2013 to pursue a Degree in Web Design, Interactive Media and Film Production. Jeremy is passionate about leadership development as it relates to citizenship and is a fervent supporter of community outreach in support of the homeless population. In his spare time he enjoys attending various sporting events with his daughter and fiancé, riding motorcycles, going to the movies and reading classic literature.
                        Jacob Strimling
                        Marketing Intern
                        Jacob Strimling is a Chicago native who is going to be a Junior at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is a Public Relations Major with Minors in business and history. Jacob spends his free time skiing, hiking, fly fishing and watching sports. He is extremely excited to be a part of a team that has such a positive impact on the Downtown Boulder Community.
